Tour description
Charleston is one of America's most graceful and historic cities, a beautifully preserved colonial port of pastel houses, church steeples and cobbled lanes beside a sparkling harbour. Rich in history both proud and painful, it wears its past openly. On this walking tour a local guide leads you through its elegant streets and revealing stories.
You will admire the famous pastel houses of Rainbow Row, wander past grand antebellum mansions and historic churches, and hear about the merchants, revolutionaries and the harbour where the Civil War began. Charming, walkable and steeped in Southern history, Charleston rewards the curious traveller.
