Kilkenny is Ireland's finest medieval city, a beautifully preserved town of narrow cobbled 'slips', a mighty castle and a great cathedral, all built from the local black limestone that earns it the name 'the Marble City'. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its history.
You will start beneath the great castle, wander the medieval mile of lanes, and see St Canice's Cathedral. Along the way you will hear about the Norman lords, the witchcraft trials and the brewing heritage. Charming and historic, Kilkenny is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
