Tour description
Nagasaki is one of Japan's most fascinating cities, a harbour town that for centuries was Japan's only window to the West through the Dutch trading post of Dejima. Blending Japanese, Chinese, Dutch and Portuguese heritage, it also carries a profound and moving 20th-century history. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its many layers.
You will visit the reconstructed Dejima island, wander streets blending East and West, and hear about the traders, the hidden Christians and the city's message of peace. Along the way you will take in views over the beautiful harbour. Unique and moving, Nagasaki is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
