Segovia is one of Spain's most spectacular cities, home to a colossal Roman aqueduct that has stood for two thousand years and a fairy-tale castle said to have inspired Walt Disney. Set on a rocky ridge in the heart of Castile, its golden old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its wonders.
You will stand beneath the astonishing aqueduct, wander lanes of golden stone to the great cathedral, and approach the dramatic Alcázar perched above the plains. Along the way you will hear about Romans, kings and queens, and the famous roast-suckling-pig cuisine of the city. Majestic and historic, Segovia is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
