You will pass through the historic Sea Gate, wander the covered souks toward the great Zitouna Mosque, and stroll the tree-lined Avenue Habib Bourguiba. Along the way you will hear about the Arab, Ottoman, French and Berber influences that shaped the city. Warm and historic, Tunis is a rewarding city to explore on foot.

Stop 1 – Bab el Bhar (Sea Gate): We meet at the historic gate between the medina and the new city.\nStop 2 – The covered souks: The lanes of perfume, textile and craft merchants.\nStop 3 – Zitouna Mosque: The great mosque at the heart of the medina (from the courtyard).\nStop 4 – The old palaces & madrasas: The hidden architectural treasures of the medina.\nStop 5 – The kasbah quarter: The historic seat of power in the old city.\nStop 6 – Avenue Habib Bourguiba: The grand French colonial boulevard.\nStop 7 – Cathedral & city viewpoint: We finish in the modern city with tips for visiting Carthage.
