You will admire the great golden stupa of Pha That Luang, the national symbol of Laos, wander tree-lined boulevards past colonial buildings, and visit serene riverside temples. Along the way you will hear about Lao Buddhism, French colonial days and daily life by the Mekong. Peaceful and charming, Vientiane is a lovely city to explore on foot.

Stop 2 – The tree-lined boulevards: The French-planned avenues of the capital.

Stop 4 – Wat Si Saket: The oldest surviving temple, lined with thousands of Buddha images.
Stop 5 – Haw Phra Kaew: The former royal temple of the Emerald Buddha.
Stop 6 – The colonial quarter: The old French villas and shophouses.
Stop 7 – Mekong riverside: We finish along the great river at sunset, facing Thailand.
