A UNESCO World Heritage site, it offers a green and heritage-rich contrast to the coastal cities. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its history.\n\nYou will visit the mighty Al Jahili Fort, wander the shaded palm oasis with its ancient water channels, and hear about the founding of the UAE and Bedouin traditions. Along the way you will discover the green heart of the Emirates. Peaceful and historic, Al Ain is a rewarding city to explore on foot.

Stop 1 – Al Jahili Fort: We meet at the great historic fort of the city.\nStop 2 – The fort grounds: The story of the forts guarding the oasis.\nStop 3 – Al Ain Oasis: The UNESCO-listed palm oasis and its ancient falaj channels.\nStop 4 – The old irrigation channels: The traditional falaj water system.\nStop 5 – The old market: The traditional souk of the oasis town.\nStop 6 – A heritage house: The birthplace heritage of the nation's founder (from outside).\nStop 7 – Oasis viewpoint: We finish among the palms with the story of the Garden City.
