Rovinj is the most romantic town in Istria, a colourful cluster of tall houses rising from a peninsula to a hilltop church, laced with narrow cobbled lanes and washed by the Adriatic. With its strong Venetian heritage, it feels like a slice of Italy. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its charm.\n\nYou will wander the steep cobbled lanes, climb toward the church of St Euphemia, and take in views over the sea. Along the way you will hear about the Venetians, the fishermen and Istrian culture. Beautiful and romantic, Rovinj is a wonderful town to explore on foot.

Stop 1 – Trg maršala Tita: We meet on the main square by the harbour.\nStop 2 – The Balbi Arch: The old gateway into the old town.\nStop 3 – Grisia Street: The steep cobbled lane of artists.\nStop 4 – The old town lanes: The colourful streets climbing the hill.\nStop 5 – St Euphemia Church: The great hilltop baroque church (from outside).\nStop 6 – The old fishing quarter: The colourful waterfront houses.\nStop 7 – Sea viewpoint: We finish with views over the Adriatic and islands.
