CAN THO CITY – TRAM CHIM TAM NONG (BREAKFAST, LUNCH)
05:00 The tour guide from the travel company picks up guests at the meeting point (Can Tho City) and departs for Dong Thap. Breakfast.
09:00 The group visits Tram Chim National Park (T5), situated in the flooded lowlands of the Dong Thap Muoi region. The park features stunning natural scenery, with vast waterways, endless green melaleuca forests, and diverse vegetation comprising more than 130 species.
This land of “six months of dry fields and scorched grass, six months of fields submerged under water” is also home to hundreds of vertebrate species, dozens of fish species, and more than 198 species of waterbirds, accounting for approximately one-quarter of Vietnam’s bird species.
The group takes a motorboat tour to admire the beauty bestowed by nature, with lotus, water lilies, wild rice, sedge, rushes, and other plants spread out before our eyes, along with animals such as eels, snakes, turtles, and pythons; freshwater fish; and birds such as storks, herons, wild ducks, and cormorants.
Among them are many rare bird species found worldwide, such as the white-winged wood duck, Sarus crane, pelican, and Asian openbill. Especially notable is the bare-necked crane, also known as the red-headed crane, which returns annually to Tram Chim to reside from late December to early May.
Visiting during this period, you will witness flocks of red-headed cranes returning and joining other bird species to forage—a fascinating spectacle that captivates visitors. Many cranes are nearly 2 meters tall, with smooth gray plumage, long legs and necks, and broad wings when flying; they walk calmly and leisurely.
The group has a picnic lunch in the National Park.
AFTERNOON: TRAM CHIM – CAO LANH CITY – THE TOMB OF NGUYEN SINH SAC
13:30 The group returns to Cao Lanh City.
In Cao Lanh, guests visit the Nguyen Sinh Sac Memorial Site— a national-level historical and cultural relic, including Uncle Ho’s stilt house, the tomb of Nguyen Sinh Sac, and the former Hoa An Village, where the village in which Nguyen Sinh Sac once lived is recreated.
Visit the Dong Thap Museum, which displays artifacts from the Oc Eo culture and characteristic cultural activities of the Mekong Delta civilization.
Go shopping for Dong Thap specialties at Cao Lanh Market.
Depart for Can Tho, stopping along the way to purchase Lai Vung fermented pork rolls and Hoa Loc Cat mangoes. Arrive in Can Tho—Viet Travel Tourism transfers guests back to the original meeting point. End of the tour.
