Detailed itinerary

Morning at 7:00: Our vehicle and guide will pick you up at the meeting point and depart for a tour of Soc Trang, known as the “land of golden pagodas,” one of the most famous destinations in the Mekong Delta. Vast rice fields, ancient temples with unique architecture steeped in history, and the distinctive cultural exchange among the Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer, and indigenous peoples will surely take you through a wonderful range of emotions.

You will begin the tour along National Highway 1A through Hau Giang Province. Arriving in Soc Trang at 9:00 a.m., you will begin a journey into the mysterious spiritual world and explore some of the most famous temples in the region:

- Wat Pătum Wôngsa Som Rông Pagoda: This ancient temple, with nearly 600 years of history, is also known as Som Rong Pagoda because it was once the birthplace and growing area of numerous Som Rong trees. These trees have also helped create the temple’s distinctive and highly unique character. The temple features embossed gold-plated bas-reliefs depicting symbols such as the mythical Krud bird and Naga snakes from Theravada Buddhist culture. It is a place where many Soc Trang residents come to pray for peace and good fortune and to connect with their spirituality at the Buddhist sanctuary.

- Buddhist Pagoda 2: Famous not only for having the largest area in Soc Trang Province and possessing elegant, distinctive architecture, but also for its valuable charitable and religious activities. With large statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, Tathagata Buddha, Maitreya Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and others, decorated with eye-catching and exquisitely detailed patterns, visitors may feel as if they have wandered into a dreamy amusement park—a magical human world.

- Bat Pagoda: Located 3 km from the city center and surrounded on all sides by a lush forest, Bat Pagoda is an attractive tourist destination in Soc Trang, visited by thousands of tourists. It is recognized as Soc Trang’s first national-level historical and scenic relic. The temple is a representative work of the famous Khmer architecture found in Soc Trang, featuring unique architecture and distinctive decorative patterns executed with exceptional refinement, making it one of the finest among the province’s 92 Khmer temples.

- Chen Kieu Pagoda: This temple features an unusual architectural style, combining pieces of patterned bowls and plates—fragments of ceramic tableware—to create masterpieces such as the Four Sacred Animals: the Dragon, Qilin, Tortoise, and Phoenix, on the walls of the main hall, along with other decorative patterns on its roof. These elements reflect the distinctive cultural character of a Khmer temple.

Noon: The group continues the journey to Bac Lieu, a land associated with the title “Land of Nostalgia,” offering peaceful scenery without the bustle and haste of city life, while providing fascinating experiences and flavorful dishes whose aftertaste lingers in one’s memory. It has long been an ideal destination filled with countless attractions for journeys through the river region. In Bac Lieu, you will enjoy lunch prepared by the people of this “land of luxury,” then begin the sightseeing tour:

- Bac Lieu Prince’s House: Here, visitors will be amazed as they hear fascinating anecdotes about the lavish lifestyle of the Black Prince, a legendary figure from Bac Lieu’s golden age. Located beside the Bac Lieu River, this house was once famous throughout the six provinces of Cochinchina for its distinctive architecture inspired by the glamorous City of Light, Paris. Nearly 100 years later, its furnishings, interiors, and structure have retained their original elegance and splendor.

- Mother Nam Hai Spiritual Tourism Area: Here, visitors will enter the tranquil world of the Buddhist realm, explore sacred and mysterious spiritual spaces, and open their hearts to spirituality in search of moments of peace, happiness, and prosperity for their families. The Mother Nam Hai Bodhisattva statue in Bac Lieu is considered an outstanding work of spiritual and cultural significance for the local people.

Afternoon at 3:00 p.m.: Depart for the beautiful city of Can Tho. On the way back, the group will stop at Tan Hue Vien Pia Cake Facility, one of Soc Trang’s most famous brands. You will have free time to choose delicious pia cakes and purchase them as gifts for relatives and family members (expenses at your own cost).

Upon arrival in Can Tho, our guide, on behalf of the company, will thank you, say goodbye, and look forward to seeing you again on future tours.
