The Thakhek Loop is a route circling Khammouane Province that is popular with travelers from around the world: paved and dirt roads pass through forests and towering limestone mountains, lakes with dead trees protruding above the water, caves, and peaceful villages.
A guide leads the way by motorcycle throughout the journey and takes care of accommodation, meals, motorbike repairs, and emergencies, allowing you to enjoy the experience with peace of mind. Over 4 days, you will visit Tham Pha Pa Buddha Cave, Xieng Liab Cave, Tha Falang swimming hole, the Nam Theun Dam and Lake, the Phou Hin Poun limestone mountain pass, the clear water pool at Tham Nam Lot/Cool Pool Cave, and the highlight: a boat trip through the approximately 7.5-kilometer-long Kong Lor Cave.
Well-maintained semi-automatic motorcycles (underbone bikes) or manual motorcycles are provided; guests who are not comfortable riding can ride pillion with the guide or a driver (surcharge applies).

Detailed itinerary
Morning (08:00): Pick up the motorbike and helmet, and receive a safety briefing. Visit Xieng Liab Cave and Tham Pha Pa Buddha Cave.
Noon: Have lunch and swim in Tha Falang Lake (during the water season).
Afternoon: Ride through the limestone mountains to the Nam Theun Lake area.
Evening: Check in and have dinner. Overnight in Thalang/Nakai.

In the event of natural disasters, epidemics, or attraction closures required by the authorities, we will assist with changing the date or refunding the unused services.

Safety: Some rural areas of Laos still contain unexploded ordnance (UXO) from wartime; always stay on marked trails and follow the guide’s instructions.
Currency: The kip (LAK) is the official currency; many places accept USD and Thai baht, but you should exchange some money into kip for spending at markets, small shops, and in rural areas.
