Tour description
Aqaba is Jordan’s only coastal city, a relaxed Red Sea resort and historic port that has been a crossroads of trade for thousands of years. As the gateway to Wadi Rum and Petra, the city combines beaches, history, and unassuming seaside charm. On this walking tour, a local guide will introduce you to the city’s heritage.
You’ll visit the historic Mamluk Fort, stroll along the waterfront promenade beneath the giant flagpole, then explore the lively old quarter and souk. Along the way, you’ll hear about the Arab Revolt, trade routes, and life on the Red Sea. Relaxed and rich in history, Aqaba is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
