On this walking tour, a local guide will take you into Bari Vecchia, where grandmothers and mothers still handcraft orecchiette pasta right outside their homes, and every corner conceals a shrine or a story.
You will visit the majestic basilica that houses the relics of Saint Nicholas—the real-life inspiration for Santa Claus—explore the Norman-Swabian castle, and stroll along the waterfront where fishermen sell their fresh morning catch. Stop 2 – Old Town Alleys (Bari Vecchia): Stroll through the white maze where traditions are still very much alive.
Stop 3 – Strada delle Orecchiette: The famous street where local women make pasta by hand.
Stop 4 – Bari Cathedral (San Sabino): An elegant Romanesque cathedral tucked away in the old town.
Stop 5 – Norman-Swabian Castle: The majestic fortress that has protected Bari for nine centuries.
Stop 6 – Piazza Mercantile & the Old Port: The historic civic square next to the fishing port.
Stop 7 – Lungomare Promenade: We end our journey along Bari's magnificent Adriatic boulevard, with views overlooking the coast.
