Tour description
Da Lat's night market spills down the steps in front of the central market and along the surrounding streets, and because the city is cold at night the food is all hot, grilled and eaten standing up with your hands around a cup of something warm. It is the single densest walkable food cluster in Vietnam.
The dish everyone comes for is banh trang nuong, which the internet insists on calling Da Lat pizza: a sheet of rice paper laid on a charcoal grill, brushed with egg, scattered with dried shrimp, spring onion, pork floss and chilli sauce, folded and cut. It costs under a dollar, it takes two minutes, and the version cooked here is better than the version anywhere else.
We also eat banh can from the clay moulds in the Nha Chung alley, oc - snails with lemongrass and coconut - grilled corn and sweet potato pulled off the coals, and sua dau nanh nong, hot soy milk poured from a kettle, which is what the whole city drinks on a cold night.
We finish with a bowl of xien ban, skewers boiled in broth and picked from a pot, and a hot che.
Small group, maximum 10 guests.

Detailed itinerary
Spot 1 - The Market Steps at Dusk: The night market begins to set up. Your guide will share insights into the city of Da Lat, its history as a French colonial hill station, and why the local food culture differs from that of the lowlands.
Spot 2 - Bánh tráng nướng (Grilled Rice Paper): Rice paper topped with egg, dried shrimp, scallions, pork floss, and chili, grilled over charcoal, folded, and sliced. Cooked right before your eyes in just two minutes.
Spot 3 - Bánh căn on Nhà Chung Street: Tiny rice flour pancakes cooked over charcoal in unglazed clay molds, made with quail eggs and dipped in a seasoned fish sauce dip. Tucked away in an alley as the night market crowds pass by.
Spot 4 - Grilled Corn and Sweet Potatoes: Piping-hot street food pulled straight from the embers to eat by hand—the perfect treat for the chilly 15°C mountain air.
Spot 5 - Ốc (Sea Snails & Shellfish Dishes): Savor shellfish cooked with lemongrass, chili, and coconut at a specialty snail eatery located right next to the market.
Spot 6 - Xiên bẩn (Skewers): Choose skewers of fish cakes, quail eggs, tofu, and vegetables simmering in a large pot of broth using tongs. You pay by the stick.

Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour start time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. Tours run rain or shine, although in a heavy downpour we shelter and wait - most stalls do too.
Other notes
Runs daily at 18:00. We start at six rather than earlier because in the May to October wet season the heavy rain usually falls in the late afternoon and clears by evening.
Bring a warm layer. Evenings in Da Lat are around fifteen degrees and travellers arriving from the coast are almost never dressed for it.
The night market is genuinely crowded at weekends, particularly on Saturday. Weeknights are more comfortable and we recommend them.
Addresses: the district tier was abolished nationally in July 2025; Lam Dong now also includes the former Dak Nong and Binh Thuan.
Dietary needs: tell us at least 48 hours ahead. A vegetarian route through banh trang nuong, corn, sweet potato, xien ban and che is easy here.
Minimum age 6 - this is a good tour for families.
About 1.5 km of walking with steps and slopes.
