Detailed itinerary
Ho Chi Minh City - Sa Dec – Cao Lanh (morning, noon, evening)
05:30 The vehicle and tour guide pick you up at the meeting point. The group begins a journey to explore the Dong Thap Muoi floodplain.
07:30 The group has breakfast at a restaurant. Then continue the journey to Sa Dec. Along the way, you will cross Cao Lanh Suspension Bridge over the Tien River, connecting Cao Lanh City and Lap Vo District, and admire the magnificent, modern beauty of the largest bridge in Dong Thap Province, constructed by Vietnamese workers. The group continues to visit Sa Dec Flower Village.
11:30 You have lunch. Then visit Phuoc Kien Pagoda, also known as Lotus Leaf Pagoda. In the pagoda’s lotus pond are enormous lotus leaves approximately 2 meters in diameter that can support a maximum weight of 140 kg. Visitors can stand on the lotus leaves to take commemorative photos without sinking.
14:00 The vehicle takes the group to Tam Nong District to visit Tram Chim National Park. Covering a natural area of more than 7,000 hectares, Tram Chim Tam Nong boasts beautiful natural scenery, abundant vegetation, and thousands of wild birds. Here, visitors will enjoy fascinating experiences while riding in a boat gliding gently through melaleuca forests and along canals covered with green duckweed, interspersed with newly blooming pink lotus flowers.
You can admire the vast sky and waterways, as well as flocks of wild birds fluttering overhead as they return to forage, build nests, and breed. At the bird breeding grounds, you will climb to an observation tower and, through telescopes, observe the lives of species such as golden apple snails, cormorants, and snail-eating egrets, while learning about their nesting and fishing habits and watching parent birds feed and care for their young.
You will have dinner featuring rich specialties of the Mekong Delta and enjoy a medicinal drink from the Dong Thap Muoi wetlands called Bac Grass tea. Leaving Tram Chim Tam Nong, the group returns to the hotel to check in and rest.
19:00 Free time to visit the night market or explore the food villages, entertainment areas, and shopping centers in Dong Thap. Overnight in Cao Lanh.

08:00 Visit the Gò Tháp historical site, comprising five notable relics: Gò Tháp Mười, Tháp Cổ Tự, the tomb and temple of Cụ Đốc Binh Kiều, Gò Minh Sư, and Miếu Bà Chúa Xứ. Archaeologists have discovered many ancient cultural artifacts belonging to the Óc Eo civilization here, and the site has been recognized as a national-level historical relic.
Continue to Đồng Sen Tháp Mười Tourist Area. Walk through the lotus fields and admire the pink lotus blossoms blooming across the fields, with the gentle fragrance of lotus flowers wafting in the breeze. In the pure atmosphere of the lotus fields, enjoy a cup of lotus tea and several dishes prepared from Đồng Tháp Mười lotus flowers. Lunch at Đồng Sen Tourist Area.
