Aachen is one of the most historic cities in Germany, the favourite residence of Charlemagne and the coronation city of German kings for six centuries. Its magnificent octagonal cathedral, the first UNESCO World Heritage site in Germany, holds his throne and tomb. On this walking tour a local guide reveals its heritage.\n\nYou will admire Charlemagne's cathedral, see the grand town hall, and hear about the emperor, the coronations and the healing hot springs. Along the way you will discover the old town lanes. Historic and grand, Aachen is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
