Tour description
Kolkata, the former capital of British India, is a city of faded grandeur, sharp intellect, and warm humanity, often called the "City of Joy". Its crumbling colonial mansions, bustling markets, and rich literary and artistic heritage make it one of India's most captivating cities. On this walking tour, a local guide will unveil the soul of the city.
You will admire the marble Victoria Memorial, stroll through the colonial heart of the old town, and immerse yourself in lively markets and streets lined with bookstalls. Along the way, you will hear stories of the poets, reformers, and revolutionaries who turned Kolkata into the nation's cultural capital. Rich in character and deeply human, Kolkata is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
