Tour description
Antigua Guatemala is one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the Americas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored houses, and romantic Baroque ruins, all surrounded by three majestic volcanoes. Once the capital of colonial Central America, the city has been shaped and rebuilt many times following earthquakes. On this walking tour, a local guide will introduce you to the city’s beauty and history.
You will walk beneath the famous yellow Santa Catalina Arch, explore the ruins of magnificent churches and convents, and learn about the colonial period and major earthquakes. Along the way, you will discover the highlands’ handicrafts and coffee culture. Romantic and steeped in history, Antigua is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
