On this walking tour, a local guide will lead you through a fairytale-like world carved into the hillside.
You’ll stroll through the tree-shaded Jardín de la Unión, climb through the narrow, colorful alleys lined with vividly painted houses, and hear the romantic legend of the Alley of the Kiss. Along the way, you’ll discover the wealth generated by the silver mines, the youthful energy of the university, and the birthplace of Mexican independence. Stop 1 – Jardín de la Unión: We meet at the tree-shaded triangular plaza in the heart of the city.
Stop 2 – Teatro Juárez: The opulent Belle Époque theater, a symbol of the city's silver wealth.
Stop 3 – The Basilica & Plaza de la Paz: The yellow basilica and the magnificent mansions of mine owners.
Stop 4 – University of Guanajuato: The impressive staircase of the renowned university.
Stop 5 – The callejones: Winding, painted alleyways hugging the hillside.
Stop 6 – Callejón del Beso: The narrow “Alley of the Kiss” and its romantic legend.
Stop 7 – Plazas & Viewpoints: We end the tour with a colorful view overlooking the cascading rooftops on the hillside.
