Tour description
Perched dramatically on a hill curving around the Tagus River, Toledo is one of Spain’s most historic cities. Once the imperial capital, it was a place where Christian, Jewish, and Muslim cultures coexisted and shaped the city over many centuries. Its entire old town has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. On this walking tour, a local guide will reveal the city’s rich layers of history.
You’ll stroll through a maze of medieval alleys, visit the magnificent cathedral and the atmospheric old Jewish quarter, and hear stories about El Greco, swordsmiths, and the three religions that shaped the city. Along the way, you’ll admire beautiful views overlooking the riverside gorge. Steeped in history and filled with a nostalgic atmosphere, Toledo is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
