Tour description
The Kampot River (Praek Tuek Chhu) flows through the town to the sea, lined with nipa palm forests, mangroves, and small fishing villages. The river is calm in the early morning and at dusk, making it ideal for kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, even for beginners.
The highlight of the tour is the ‘Green Cathedral’ – a narrow waterway beneath a canopy of densely interwoven nipa palms resembling a cathedral vault, where you can hear birds and spot kingfishers. On the way back, visit a fishing village of the Cham Muslim community, where you can see fishermen repairing nets and brightly painted wooden boats.
The guides are safety-trained, and life jackets and a support boat are provided. Morning and afternoon tours are available (including sunset viewing).

Detailed itinerary
Pick-up at the hotel (07:30 or 14:30), then head to the river pier. Receive paddling and safety instructions, and choose a tandem kayak, single kayak, or SUP board.
Paddle downstream for approximately 45 minutes, winding through the Green Cathedral waterways beneath the mangrove canopy.
Take a break, enjoy fruit, and drink coconut water at a riverside local home.
Visit a Cham fishing village and learn about the fishermen’s way of life.
Paddle back to the pier (or take a support boat back if tired). Transfer back to the hotel, ending the tour (11:30 or 18:30).

Cancellation policy
Free cancellation with a 100% refund when notified at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure are non-refundable. In the event of bad weather or attraction closures required by the authorities, we can help reschedule the tour or provide a full refund.

The tour is led by an English-speaking local guide by default; Vietnamese-, French-, Chinese-, Japanese-, and Korean-speaking guides can be requested (please notify us when booking, subject to guide availability).
The price applies per guest and is based on a private tour for groups of 2 or more guests. Larger groups receive better rates; please contact us.
Visa: international visitors need a Cambodian visa (apply for an e-visa online before the trip or obtain a visa at a land border crossing or airport); ASEAN citizens are visa-exempt. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
No paddling experience is required, but guests should know basic swimming. We recommend bringing clothes that may get wet, sunscreen, and a hat.
