Tour description
Hamburg proudly calls itself Germany’s “Gateway to the World,” a wealthy port city filled with canals, red-brick warehouses, and a captivating maritime spirit. With more bridges than Venice and Amsterdam combined, it is an ideal city for strolling, and on this tour, a local guide will reveal both its historic heart and its impressively revitalized riverfront.
You will admire the palace-like grandeur of the town hall, stroll through the Speicherstadt warehouse district, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and hear stories about merchants, sailors, and musicians – from the days of the Hanseatic League to the early days of The Beatles. Confident, elegant, and closely connected to the water, Hamburg is one of Germany’s finest cities to explore on foot.
