Tour description
Hampi is one of the most extraordinary destinations in India, the sprawling ruined capital of the once-mighty Vijayanagara Empire, scattered amidst a fantastical landscape of giant boulders and lush green rice paddies. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is home to hundreds of ancient temples, palaces, and bazaars. On this walking tour, a local guide will unveil its wonders to you.
You will begin at the still-active Virupaksha Temple, stroll through the ancient bazaar and sacred lanes, and hear about the golden age of the empire. Along the way, you will admire the dreamlike, boulder-strewn landscape. Ancient and magical, Hampi is a wonderful place to explore on foot.
