Rising out of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage, Jaisalmer is a sandstone city crowned by one of the world's few remaining living forts after 850 years. Once a bustling trading post along the Silk Road, it is renowned for its intricately carved merchant havelis. On this walking tour, a local guide reveals the city’s wonders.
You’ll walk up to this living fort, wander through golden sandstone alleys, and admire the ornate havelis of wealthy merchants from eras past. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of desert caravans, Rajput warriors, and daily life within the fortress walls. Golden and enchanting, Jaisalmer is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
