Tour description
Kong Lor Cave (Tham Kong Lo) is one of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular caves: the Nam Hinboun River flows through the limestone mountains for about 7.5 km, forming an underground cave that reaches several dozen metres in height. Sitting in a small motorboat with a flashlight, you travel through the darkness for nearly an hour, stop at an illuminated stalactite area, and emerge into a green valley on the other side of the mountain.
The itinerary follows part of the famous Thakhek Loop through the Phou Hin Poun limestone mountains: Xieng Liab Cave with a lake at the foot of the cliffs, Tham Nang Aen Cave, the Nam Theun Reservoir with dead tree trunks protruding from the water, and small villages nestled among the mountains. On the first night, you stay at a homestay or guesthouse in Kong Lor Village, right at the cave entrance.
The tour is for those who enjoy adventure, nature exploration, and roads less traveled by tourists.
