Detailed itinerary
HO CHI MINH CITY - MY THO - CAN THO
06:00 The vehicle and tour guide will pick you up at the meeting point to depart for Tien Giang. The meeting point and pickup time will be announced to you by the tour guide before the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the way, you will socialize with one another and listen to the guide's presentation about interesting facts concerning the attractions. You will stop to rest, have breakfast, visit the site, and take commemorative photos at Mekong Restop.
During the Tet holiday and spring season, Mekong Restop will also offer many activities for visitors, such as coconut candy making, banh chung and banh tet wrapping, and bamboo basket weaving. These are meaningful specialties to buy as gifts. Visitors can consider Mekong Restop an ideal rest stop, as it is known as an ideal resort area. For photography enthusiasts, this is truly an ideal destination.
Continuing the journey, the vehicle will take you into My Tho City.
My Tho is the capital city of Tien Giang Province, one of the 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta. In addition, My Tho is located in one of the most important economic regions in the south. My Tho is only about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City. My Tho has the climate typical of the southwestern region, with two distinct seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. However, you can explore My Tho at any time of year without too much concern. The climate is generally mild, and the rainfall is neither too heavy nor as harsh as in the northern and central regions. Nevertheless, every trip requires careful preparation, so do not forget to check the weather forecast.
If Can Tho is famous for Cai Rang Floating Market, My Tho has Cai Be Floating Market, which is bustling with trading activities day and night. This market also plays an important role in commerce and is located at the intersection of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long provinces. Therefore, encountering specialties from Ben Tre or Vinh Long while strolling around the market is no longer a surprise to visitors. In addition, My Tho City possesses the gentle beauty of the poetic rivers and waterways of the southwestern region. That is not all: when visiting My Tho, you can also enjoy countless delicious dishes prepared by experienced local chefs.
10:00 Arrive at the April 30 Pier, board a motorboat to cruise along the Tien River, admire Rach Mieu Bridge, and see the Four Sacred Islets of the Tien River—Long, Lan, Qui, and Phung. The group arrives at Lan Islet, where you will:
The Four Sacred Islets of the Tien River are Long and Lan Islets in Tien Giang Province, and Quy and Phung Islets in Ben Tre Province. The weather in the early days of the year is ideal for visitors to enjoy nature, admire the flowers and greenery, and savor the local specialties. Long Islet specializes in raising aquatic products in floating cages. Its lush orchards will delight you with the fruits of the countryside. The islet boasts a wide variety of delicious and sweet local fruits, such as durian, rambutan, Barbados cherry, guava, oranges, mangoes, and star apples. Legend has it that Long Islet was once home to a huge, aging dragon-like serpent. Much later, alluvial deposits accumulated and transformed the creature's body into a sandbank in the middle of the river.
Visit a fruit orchard, enjoy fresh fruit, listen to and join in traditional Southern Vietnamese music performances, drink honey tea, observe and learn about beekeeping, and take commemorative photos with a reticulated python.
Paddle a sampan to explore the canals, admire the lush nipa palms, and enjoy the simple, peaceful life of the people in the river region.
Take a horse-drawn carriage ride around the village roads.
Join the canal-draining and fish-catching program, with teams competing against one another, then enjoy your catch as grilled fish wrapped in rice paper.
11:30 Enjoy lunch featuring crispy fried giant gourami, then rest at your leisure.
13:00 Return to the April 30 Pier and depart to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. This is a famous spiritual pagoda in Southern Vietnam, recognized as a national-level historical and cultural relic, as well as a renowned pilgrimage and tourist destination in Tien Giang Province.
Vinh Trang Pagoda was built in a composite architectural style, blending Asian and European architecture. All the decorative motifs are harmoniously combined to create an exceptionally beautiful work of art.
In particular, Vinh Trang Pagoda has three large Buddha statues: a 98 cm Amitabha Buddha statue, 93 cm Avalokiteshvara and Mahasthamaprapta statues, and a large bronze bell called the Bao Bell Tower, standing 1.2 m tall and engraved with "Vinh Truong Tu," cast around the 19th century.
Vinh Trang Pagoda has long been famous as a sacred site in Tien Giang. Rich in the distinctive beauty of the southwestern waterways, Vinh Trang Pagoda also represents the cultural exchange between Eastern and Western civilizations. The pagoda has a turbulent construction history and has undergone many changes and restorations over successive generations. After numerous renovations, it eventually became a grand temple and was named Vinh Truong Pagoda. It is commonly known as Vinh Trang Pagoda.
After visiting the pagoda, the group continues the journey to Can Tho.
17:00 Arrive in Can Tho, check in to the hotel, and rest.
18:30 Enjoy dinner aboard the Can Tho Cruise, accompanied by traditional Southern Vietnamese music and a cruise along the Hau River.
The Can Tho Cruise is located at Ninh Kieu Pier, not far from the city center, and is ideal for tour groups wishing to enjoy an evening aboard a cruise before exploring Can Tho at night. The experience of dining aboard the Can Tho Cruise while admiring the sparkling Ninh Kieu Pier at night is perhaps the most appealing and anticipated part of this trip. The cruise boats moored along the riverbank are decorated with numerous colorful lights, creating a familiar image that also reflects the distinctive character of the Mekong Delta.
The nighttime views of Ninh Kieu Pier and Cai Rang Floating Market are exceptionally beautiful and colorful, while also retaining a gentle, feminine charm. Of course, the cruise experience does not end there, as the Can Tho specialties served in the cruise restaurant will help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the local culture. Attractive dishes include sour soup, rustic clay-pot braised fish, and simple yet delicious steamed white rice. In particular, visitors aboard the boat can also

CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET - MY KHANH TOURIST AREA - HO CHI MINH CITY
05:00 You will be awakened and depart for the pier to take a boat tour of Cai Rang Floating Market and learn about the distinctive river-based trading culture of Southern Vietnam during the 2025 Lunar New Year Mekong Delta tour.
Cai Rang Floating Market is a unique and distinctive type of market found only in the watery region of the Mekong Delta. When visiting the floating market, you will experience the sensation of gently bobbing while sitting on a boat and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of the market in the early morning.
Cai Rang Floating Market is a distinctive and famous floating market in Can Tho. This floating market was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2016. Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho was established in the early 20th century, mainly trading agricultural products, fruits, and specialties from the Mekong Delta.
Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho shares the common characteristics of floating markets in the Mekong Delta. In the past, Cai Rang Market mainly sold agricultural products, and each boat specialized in displaying one particular type of merchandise. However, the market now offers a wider variety of goods, including food, household items, and necessities for life on the river.
If you want to experience the floating market, you must get up early because the market opens very early, around 4:00 to 5:00 a.m., and gradually winds down afterward. Arriving at the market at this time, you will not only immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of buyers and sellers but also have the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery of the floating market as the sun rises.
If you visit the floating market at 5:00 or 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. is a wonderful time for breakfast. You can find and enjoy countless dishes at the market, such as tapioca noodle soup, crab noodle soup, tapioca noodles, traditional Vietnamese pastries, beef noodle soup, fish noodle soup, grilled pork vermicelli, various kinds of porridge with coconut milk, and many other dishes. The only concern is that you may not be able to finish eating, because Cai Rang Floating Market truly has no shortage of specialties for visitors to experience.
The wonderful thing about visiting the Floating Market is enjoying a cup of coffee together while drifting on the boat and watching the sunrise.
07:00 Return to the hotel for breakfast and rest.
10:00 Check out and depart for My Khanh Tourist Area, where you will visit the fruit orchards, go crocodile fishing, watch pig and dog racing, circus performances, and more.
The first thing that gives My Khanh Tourist Area its strong character of the riverine countryside is its geographical location between the famous Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets, which have existed for generations. Whether traveling there by road or waterway, you will experience the vast river scenery along the way, as the dense network of rivers and canals is a signature feature of the Mekong Delta.
Upon entering, you will be welcomed by a fresh and cool natural landscape, with tree canopies, green lawns, koi ponds, and distinctive artistic sculptures and ornamental scenes. Throughout the grounds of My Khanh Eco-tourism Area, every corner offers a wonderful setting for taking photos. In particular, green rivers flowing around the area add a touch of romance to the space.
My Khanh Tourist Area is called a “miniature Southern Vietnam” because it contains nearly all the distinctive cultural beauty of the region. Not every recreational destination can convey regional culture through the architecture of its homes as My Khanh does. The old house within the tourist area faithfully recreates the traditional way of life, helping visitors gain an understanding of how people in the Mekong Delta lived in the past.
My Khanh Tourist Area brings together all the distinctive features of the Mekong Delta region. Here, you will immerse yourself in the natural scenery and have the opportunity to enjoy various activities at the tourist area.
12:00 Have lunch at My Khanh Tourist Area and depart for Ho Chi Minh City.
18:00 Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. The vehicle will take you back to the original pickup point. End of the journey.
Goodbye, and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip!!!
