Tour description
Nagasaki is one of Japan's most fascinating cities, a port city that served for centuries as the country's sole gateway to the West through the Dutch trading post of Dejima. Blending Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese heritage, it also carries a profound and moving 20th-century history. On this walking tour, a local guide will help you uncover the city's rich layers of history.
You will visit the reconstructed island of Dejima, stroll through streets where East meets West, and hear stories of merchants, hidden Christians, and the city's message of peace. Along the way, you will take in stunning views overlooking the harbor. Both unique and emotionally resonant, Nagasaki is a wonderful city to explore on foot.
