Tour description
To experience the full beauty of Vang Vieng, nothing compares to standing atop a limestone peak early in the morning while mist still hangs over the valley. This trekking tour takes you to the summit of Nam Xay—a climb of approximately 40–60 minutes, steep in places with sections requiring you to hold onto ladders, but rewarded with 360-degree views of the Nam Song River, rice fields, and mountain ranges.
After descending the mountain, you will walk through fields and Hmong villages, learn about highland agricultural life, and cool off at Blue Lagoon 3—a less crowded blue-water pool than Blue Lagoon 1. In the afternoon, visit Tham Chang Cave near the town—the cave once served as a shelter for local people during wartime—with a clear stream flowing from the foot of the mountain.
The tour is suitable for people with a good level of fitness.
