PU LUONG – DON VILLAGE – UOI VILLAGE – HANOI (Meals: breakfast, lunch)
Morning: Wake up early and start the day with light exercises, enjoy the fresh morning air of Pu Luong, and greet the first rays of dawn.
06:00 - 07:30 Have breakfast at the stilt house and relax.
08:00 – 11:00 The group begins the tour to explore famous tourist attractions in Pu Luong.
The first destination of day 2 in Pu Luong is Don Village (Ban Don) – a village located in the center of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, surrounded by vast terraced fields, and one of the few villages in Pu Luong that still preserves traditional stilt houses rich in the cultural identity and customs of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups. Standing from the stilt houses in the village, you can freely admire the panoramic views of the mountains, primeval forests, terraced fields, and daily life of the locals.
Don Village has a cool climate year-round characteristic of the highlands, making it an ideal choice for visitors looking for a getaway. The residents of Don Village are predominantly Thai, along with a small number of Muong people. Don Village is one of the villages in Pu Luong that retains the cultural characteristics of stilt houses with unique, solid, and sturdy architecture.
Don Village is most beautiful in May, June, September, and October during the ripe rice harvest. During the harvest season, the terraced fields on the hillsides appear to put on a new coat of lush and poetic beauty. According to local lore, people used to live scattered in small groups rather than forming a village. Later on, for the convenience of daily life, water sources, and community gatherings, the people gathered into a village. In the Kinh language, it means gathering or clustering, while in the Thai language it is 'don'. That is how the name Ban Don came to be and has remained ever since.
Continue the journey by walking down to Uoi Village (Ban Uoi). This is one of the oldest villages in Pu Luong, which has recently been developed for tourism to meet visitors' desire for exploration. Uoi Village is nestled in a valley, backed by the largest ancient palm forest in Pu Luong, with a gentle stream meandering past endless terraced fields in front. Visiting Uoi Village, you will have the opportunity to explore the palm forest with giant palm trees at an altitude of 300m above sea level, or you can experience stream bathing (only suitable in summer) or check in and take souvenir photos on the ancient rock atop the palm hill.
11:00 - 11:30 Check out of the room, have lunch at the restaurant, and rest at leisure.
Afternoon: Free time to rest and shop for gifts for relatives, family, and friends, then board the vehicle to depart back to Hanoi.
19:00 - 20:00 Arrive in Hanoi – the tour guide and driver bid farewell and look forward to seeing you on future journeys, concluding an exciting 2-day 1-night Hanoi – Pu Luong tour!
