On this walking tour, a local guide will lead you through streets where Indigenous and Spanish worlds have intersected and blended for five centuries.
You will stop at the grand Plaza Grande, admire dazzling gold-leafed Baroque churches, and hear stories about the Incas, the conquistadors, and Ecuador’s struggle for independence. Surrounded by the towering Andes and with the equator running just outside the city, Quito is one of the most spectacular capitals in South America to explore on foot.

Stop 1 – Plaza Grande: We meet on the main square framed by the cathedral and presidential palace.
Stop 2 – Quito Cathedral & Carondelet Palace: The seats of church and state in the old city.
Stop 3 – La Compañía de Jesús: One of the most lavish golden baroque churches in the Americas (from outside).
Stop 4 – Plaza & Church of San Francisco: The vast colonial complex at the heart of Quito.
Stop 5 – La Ronda: The picturesque restored colonial lane of artisans and cafes.
Stop 6 – Basílica del Voto Nacional: The soaring neo-Gothic basilica over the old town.
Stop 7 – El Panecillo viewpoint: We finish looking up to the winged Virgin watching over Quito.
