Detailed itinerary
Arrive at Narita or Haneda – travel to central Tokyo.
Sightseeing:
Sensoji Temple – Asakusa, Nakamise Street.
Ueno Park and Ameyoko Market.
If you still have energy: visit Tokyo Skytree.
Evening: Enjoy sushi and udon. Stay overnight in Tokyo.

Morning: Travel from Tokyo by Shinkansen to Oishida (on the Yamagata Shinkansen line), then take a bus/taxi for approximately 40 minutes to Ginzan Onsen.
Afternoon:
Take a stroll through the charming historic hot spring town.
Take photos at the wooden bridge, traditional ryokan bathhouses, and glowing lanterns.
Experience an onsen and enjoy a kaiseki-style dinner.
Evening: Stay overnight at a Ginzan Onsen ryokan.

🔹 Option 1 (onsen favorite, winter):
Visit Zao Onsen (1 hour), and check in at the "Snow Monsters" if it is winter (January–February).
🔹 Option 2 (a relaxing break):
Return to Yamagata City and visit Risshakuji Temple (Yamadera) – the temple on the cliff.
Afternoon: Travel to Sendai or Tokyo for convenient access to the ancient village the next day.
Stay overnight in Sendai/Tokyo.
Visit Zao Onsen (1 hour), and check in at the "Snow Monsters" if it is winter (January–February).
