Detailed itinerary
07:00 Our vehicle and tour guide pick you up at the meeting point (individual guests join the group at the Hanoi Opera House).
07:30 The vehicle departs for Ha Nam. On the way, the tour guide will hand out hats and water and introduce the Ha Nam tour itinerary.
09:00 Visit Tam Chuc Pagoda, the largest pagoda in the world, located in the Tam Chuc National Tourist Area, including the following features: the Inner Tam Quan Gate, Tam The Palace, Giao Chu Palace, Quan Am Palace, Jade Buddha Stupa, and the garden of stone scripture pillars currently being completed. Inside the worship halls are thousands of meticulously and carefully assembled stone pictures depicting stories of the Buddha, made from volcanic stone from Indonesia and then brought to Vietnam.
The group conquers a walking route of about 100 stone steps up to the Jade Buddha Stupa. From above, visitors can fully admire the magnificent scenery of Tam Chuc Lake. In the distance are six small mountains in the middle of the lake, called Luc Nhac; in the center of the lake is Tam Chuc Communal House, set amid majestic mountains and water. For this reason, Tam Chuc is likened to Ha Nam’s “Ha Long Bay on land.”
Noon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: The group travels to Ba Danh Pagoda, located beside the Day River, whose formal name is Bao Son Tu. The pagoda worships the Buddha and the Four Dharma Deities (Phap Van, Phap Vu, Phap Loi, Phap Dien), as well as a sacred goddess who oversees rain and wind, helps the people prevent floods, and brings favorable weather, hence it is called the pagoda of the lady of Danh village.
The group explores Ngu Dong Son, which has 5 connected caves forming a continuous cave system with many kinds of stalactites and stalagmites in countless shapes, inspiring visitors’ rich imagination: a mother’s breast, a rice pot with its lid open, an elephant, a turtle, and more. Some formations are hidden deep in the darkness, but when illuminated by torchlight, they suddenly shine like precious gems. In particular, inside the cave there are also 3 small cave entrances likened to the gateways of career success, love, and health. The group offers incense at Truc Temple, where many green bamboo trees grow and cover the entire area. Listen to the historical story of General Ly Thuong Kiet’s campaign to the south.
15:45 The program ends. The vehicle and tour guide take the group back to Hanoi, to the Hanoi Opera House area (expected arrival at 17:30), concluding the 1-day Ha Nam tour. Goodbye and see you again!
