Tour description
Vang Vieng lies amid towering limestone mountains along the Nam Song River, a landscape often described as Ha Long Bay on land. After years of improvements, the town is now an ideal destination in Laos for nature and gentle adventure.
In the morning, visit Tham Xang Cave (Elephant Cave), home to an elephant-shaped stalactite, then sit on an inner tube and follow a rope into Tham Nam Water Cave with a headlamp – a fun and safe experience. After lunch by the river, kayak approximately 8–10 km downstream on the Nam Song back to town, taking in limestone mountains, rice fields, and bamboo bridges.
In the afternoon, a vehicle takes you to Blue Lagoon (Tham Phu Kham) – a turquoise pool at the foot of the mountain – where you can swim, jump from a tree into the pool, and climb into Phu Kham Cave, which houses a reclining Buddha statue.

Other notes
The tour is normally led by an English-speaking local guide; Vietnamese-, French-, Chinese-, or Thai-speaking guides can be requested (please notify us when booking, subject to guide availability).
The price applies per guest and is based on a private tour for groups of 2 or more guests. Larger groups receive better rates; please contact us.
Visa: international visitors need a Laos visa (apply for an e-visa online before the trip or obtain a visa at international airports and international border crossings); citizens of ASEAN countries are visa-exempt according to regulations. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
Guests should know how to swim at a basic level. We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, water shoes, and a bag for wet clothes. During the rainy season, when river levels are high, kayaking may be replaced with another activity for safety reasons.
