Tour description
The countryside around Battambang is flat, with small tree-lined village roads that are ideal for cycling. The tour takes you out of the city along the Sangker River, where traditional wooden stilt houses stand amid mango and banana gardens and rice fields.
Along the way, you will visit local families practicing crafts commonly associated with Khmer meals: making rice paper over steaming pots, drying bananas on bamboo racks, and making prahok fish paste, with opportunities to taste everything on the spot. The final destination is Wat Ek Phnom—a 11th-century sandstone temple whose doorway bas-reliefs remain fairly well preserved—next to a modern pagoda with a large Buddha statue.
The route is approximately 20–25 km on flat roads at a leisurely pace; a support vehicle accompanies the group. Morning and afternoon tours are available.
