Phuoc Kien Tu is also known as the "Lotus Leaf Pagoda". The pagoda does not have ancient architecture or a massive structure, but it is still visited by many tourists and Buddhists because it possesses a very special lotus pond. When mentioning lotus flowers, people often think of noble, delicate, and pure beauty. But the lotus in this pagoda in Dong Thap is famous for the giant size of its leaves, which can "carry" a person weighing up to 140kg. And there is a strange thing that this lotus species usually starts blooming at 6 PM, and continuously changes color over time. Initially, the lotus flower is white, but after 12 PM it will change to pink, and when it fades, the flower will have a dark purple color.

05:40 Depart for the 1-day Western Region (Mekong Delta) tour. Journeying to Dong Thap along the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, you will listen to presentations about famous landmarks such as Go Den, Ben Luc, and Tan An—places renowned throughout the region for local specialties like Ben Luc pineapples, Cho Dao Nang Thom rice, etc.

07:30 The group stops to visit a CHOCOLATE production facility where you will witness the traditional handmade chocolate-making process adhering to European standards. From harvesting cacao pods and fermenting to packaging the finished products, all steps will be thoroughly explained during the tour. You will directly participate in some chocolate-making stages, taste fresh cacao fruit, and most importantly, savor chocolate right at the workshop. After the tour, visitors will understand the distinct difference between traditional chocolate and compound chocolate.
You will pass by and admire My Thuan Bridge—the iconic cable-stayed bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Long. Additionally, My Thuan Bridge is an outstanding architectural work, attracting many tourists from all over the country.
09:30 Board the bus and travel to Phuoc Kien Pagoda, also known as "Lotus Leaf Pagoda" - surrounded by lush greenery behind lotus ponds, with the extraordinary highlight that visitors can stand on the giant lotus leaves. Interestingly, this lotus species usually starts blooming around 6:00 PM and continuously changes color over time. Initially white, the petals turn pink after 12:00 PM (noon), and when withering, they shift to deep purple. You can take a motorbike taxi (own expense) or walk about 300 meters to the pagoda.
12:00 The bus and tour guide take the group to a restaurant for lunch and rest.
13:30 The group moves to Xeo Quyt Tourist Area. Arriving at Xeo Quyt, you will immediately feel the breathtaking natural landscape. Visiting Xeo Quyt in the dry season, you will weave along winding trails beneath the cool shade of cajeput trees. During the high-water season, aboard a traditional three-plank wooden boat, female guerrillas wearing black Ba Ba shirts, checkered scarves, and bucket hats will navigate you through pristine small canals to reach relics hidden inside the vast cajeput forest.
The ecosystem here is extremely diverse, featuring over 170 plant species (cajeput, burflower-tree, reed, combretum, lotus, water lily, etc.) and 200 species of wild animals, including 13 species listed in the Vietnam Red Data Book such as the Burmese python, Oriental rat snake, otter, box turtle, etc. That is why Xeo Quyt is called a miniature Dong Thap Muoi (Plain of Reeds). Along the way, tourists will be treated by the female guerrillas to rustic snacks, which are local specialties of this region.
16:00 Depart for Saigon. On the way back, stop to purchase Sa Dec specialties such as Lai Vung fermented pork rolls, Sa Giang prawn crackers, pink mandarins...
