Tour description
The stretch of the Mekong River from Kratie to Stung Treng is one of Cambodia’s most beautiful natural regions, with sand islands, wetlands, rapids, and rare freshwater dolphins.
On the first day, you will observe Irrawaddy dolphins at Kampi Pool, visit Sambor’s 100-Column Pagoda, then take the ferry to Koh Trong Island and stay at a homestay with a farming family amid pomelo orchards. On the second day, you will cycle around the island before continuing to Stung Treng. On the final day, you will kayak or take a boat through the Mekong River wetlands and visit Sopheakmit Waterfall – a spectacular cascade and rapids near the northern border (visited from the Cambodian side).
The itinerary is suitable for nature lovers who enjoy slow travel and community experiences.
