Detailed itinerary
06:00 Our vehicle and tour guide will pick you up at the meeting point and depart for Hung Temple—the ancestral land of the Vietnamese nation, 90 km from Hanoi. Along the way, the group will rest and have breakfast at Phu Lo Junction at their own expense.
09:30 Arrive at Hung Temple. You will perform a ceremony and offer incense at the ancestral land, visit one of the nation’s most historically valuable relic sites, and visit the Hung Vuong Museum, where you will hear an introduction to the history of the establishment, formation, and development of Van Lang—the first state in our country.
The Hung Temple historical relic site is a sacred land and the place of worship of the Hung Kings, commemorating their contributions to building and defending the country and bringing peace to our people to this day. This fertile land possesses favorable natural conditions and human harmony. Every year, people from all directions travel here to pray for blessings and good fortune. Hung Temple is considered a national historical relic site and a source of national pride for the Vietnamese people.
Built in 1986, the Hung Vuong Museum preserves nearly 700 original artifacts, 163 paintings, and many other diverse artifacts. Here, you can admire surviving relics from previous dynasties and learn about the process of building and defending the country by the Hung Kings through many generations.
12:00 The group will have lunch at a restaurant.
Afternoon: After climbing more than 200 stone steps, you will visit and offer incense at Ha Temple, Trung Temple, Thuong Temple, Gieng Temple, Ngoc Well, and the Hung Kings’ Mausoleum.
These are four sacred temples located around the Hung Kings’ area, each associated with its own historical story. To reach Ha Temple, visitors must climb 225 steps. According to legend, this was where the eldest son of Au Co and Lac Long Quan ascended the throne and established Van Lang at that time.
Gieng Temple is named so because, according to legend, there is a jade well within the temple that remains full of water year-round, symbolizing prosperity, abundance, and good fortune. This is where the two princesses, Ngoc Hoa and Tien Dung, daughters of the 18th Hung King, often looked at their reflections in the clear well water while combing their hair.
16:30 You will return to the vehicle and depart for Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be dropped off at the designated point, concluding the one-day Hung Temple tour. On behalf of the company, our tour guide would like to thank you, say goodbye, and hope to see you again on future tours.
