BA BE LAKE – THAI NGUYEN – HANOI (BREAKFAST / LUNCH / – )
“Suddenly waking up in a space that seemed to hold its breath. Somewhere, only the sounds of insects echoed back. I gently stepped out of the bedroom and made my way to the balcony. I was stunned by the rustic and mysterious beauty of Ba Be Lake, with mist drifting across the water, over the treetops, and covering even the pathways… Making myself a hot cup of coffee, I sipped it slowly and felt the breath of heaven and earth.”
07:00 Have breakfast at the stilt house. After breakfast, pack your luggage and take it to the bus, then walk along the small lakeside path leading to the boat pier. Sitting on the small boat, you can relax and admire the lake scenery while finding your favorite photo angles. On the lake, the boat will stop at the following sites:
- Fairy Pond: Fairy Pond is located in the third corner of Ba Be Lake, a small lake nestled amid a mountain rising above the lake surface. Legend has it that this was once where fairies often sat and played chess.
- An Ma Temple: The temple is located on a small mountain in the middle of the lake. Legend has it that during the feudal war between the Le and Mac dynasties, the Mac generals were defeated, fled to Puong Cave, and then sacrificed themselves there. Moved by their loyal and heroic spirit, the people built a temple to worship the Mac family, but fearing that Le troops would discover and destroy it, they changed its name to An Ma Temple. In the Tay ethnic language, “An Ma” means “peaceful and beautiful resting place,” the resting place of the loyal Mac officials.
- Widow Island – a charming small island located right in the center of the lake, associated with the legend of the lake’s formation. The boat will slowly circle the island so you can take photos.
12:00 Have lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, continue by bus back to Hanoi. On the way, stop to visit Duom Temple, dedicated to Saint Duom Duong Tu Minh, famous for its sacredness in Phu Luong, Thai Nguyen.
18:30 Arrive in Hanoi. End of the program. We look forward to seeing you again!
