05:00 Our vehicle and tour guide will pick up the group at the meeting point. The group departs for Bac Lieu City. On the bus, our tour guide will organize fun games such as Find the Mysterious Person, Treasure Hunt, the Crazy Hat, etc., along with many attractive prizes. To reach Bac Lieu, the group follows National Highway 1A—the North-South main route—through the provinces of Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang.
11:30 The group has lunch at a restaurant in Soc Trang Province.
12:30 The group visits Soc Trang Bat Pagoda, also known as Ma Toc Pagoda—a beautiful architectural complex. This is the only pagoda dedicated to Shakyamuni Buddha of the Khmer community living in the province. It is called Bat Pagoda because the temple grounds are home to a large colony of bats. Here, in addition to worshipping Buddha and admiring the ancient Khmer architectural structures created by the Khmer people, visitors can also hear fascinating and mysterious stories about the bats living at the pagoda.
13:15 Continuing the journey to Bac Lieu, the group visits Clay Pagoda in Soc Trang Province. This is a more-than-200-year-old ancient pagoda, famous throughout the Mekong Delta for its more than 1,000 statues molded entirely from clay by the skillful hands of Mr. Ngo Kim Tong—the pagoda's fourth abbot. Particularly remarkable are three pairs of gigantic candles, weighing 200 kilograms, which have been burning for more than 100 years, arousing curiosity and attracting visitors to the pagoda.
16:00 The group arrives in Bac Lieu City. The vehicle takes the group to visit and worship at the Nam Hai Goddess of Mercy Temple—one of the most famous spiritual destinations in Bac Lieu. The temple grounds feature a striking statue of Guanyin, more than 10 meters tall, standing beneath a vast expanse of sky. The statue faces the East Sea, as if praying for the fishermen to have smooth voyages and calm seas whenever they head out to sea.
