Bat Trang is the most famous pottery village in Northern Vietnam, boasting centuries of history. Aboard an open-top UAZ-469 Jeep driven by a female driver, you leave Hanoi along the Red River dyke, enjoying the cool river breeze as city streets give way to lush orchards and green fields.
Upon arriving at the village, walk through winding alleys to visit the village's oldest pottery kiln, the communal house, and artisan workshops where craftsmen shape and paint ceramics, then stroll through the pottery market with plenty of great-value souvenirs. The tour concludes with a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.

Detailed itinerary
Pick-up (8:00 or 13:00): Tour guide and female driver pick you up at your hotel and introduce the itinerary.
Stage 1 – Along the Red River: Ride along the Red River dike, visiting a traditional rural village.
Stage 2 – Route to Bat Trang: Pass through orchards and narrow dirt roads leading to the pottery village.
Stage 3 – Exploring the Pottery Village: Visit an ancient pottery kiln, the village communal house, pottery workshops, and the pottery market.
Final Stage – Lunch: Enjoy a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant (afternoon tour has lunch at the start of the tour), then return to your hotel.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable. The tour runs rain or shine (rain ponchos provided); in the event of hazardous weather conditions, the tour will be rescheduled or fully refunded.

Open-top Jeep, up to 3 guests per vehicle; the tour operates rain or shine (raincoats provided). Not suitable for pregnant women or people with spine problems. Private tour price: 60 USD/person.
