Detailed itinerary
CAN THO – HAU GIANG
Time: 07:00 or 13:00
07:00 Pick-up at the meeting point in Can Tho. The group departs for sightseeing:
Mua Xuan Tourist Area: Visitors will experience a motorboat ride of more than 30 minutes, enjoying scenery where water hyacinths thickly cover the water’s surface. Rows of melaleuca trees line both sides. Occasionally, a few birds take flight into the distance, creating a very captivating scene.
The observation tower here is over 12m high with 3 levels. From the top of the tower, you will have quite a magnificent panoramic view. On one side is a forest with dense melaleuca trees. On the other side are the wonderfully beautiful fields of the Mekong Delta. Adding charm to this beautiful space are occasional flocks of birds flying by and drifting clouds. The entire scenery of Mua Xuan Farm comes into view when we stand up high.
Continuing the journey, the group moves on to visit:
BoTum Vong Say Pagoda: A Khmer pagoda with stunning architecture!
Arriving at Nga Bay River: The group boards a boat to tour along Nga Bay River, listening to the guide explain the seven river branches and enjoying the famous vọng cổ song associated with this river, “Tinh Anh Ban Chieu” by the late People’s Artist Vien Chau, performed by the late People’s Artist Ut Tra On. Along the way, the group will pass the Southern Resistance Village, established in 1954, where the Geneva Agreement between France and Vietnam was signed.
Visit Vinh Hiep Pagoda, located beside a branch of Nga Bay River and built in the early years of the 20th century.
The boat visits the traditional craft village of weaving bamboo baskets and building boats and sampans, once prosperous during the years 1976–1986 in Nga Bay City.
Noon: The boat will take you back to Nga Bay Song Graden Ecological Garden to rest and have lunch with specialty dishes of the riverine Mekong Delta.
Afternoon: You will change into bà ba outfits, the traditional clothing of Southern Vietnamese people, and take a sampan to visit fruit orchards planted and tended by local farmers in the river region, such as orange orchards or jackfruit orchards.
At Nga Bay Song Graden, you will experience archery (an Olympic sport).
End of an exciting experiential journey. The group departs back to Can Tho City. Farewell and see you again!
