Tour description
Hue at night has a gentle, poetic rhythm steeped in music. Once the imperial capital for more than a century, the city gave rise to Hue royal court music—a refined chamber music genre blending the sounds of the đàn tranh, đàn nguyệt, and đàn nhị with vocals performing songs of the imperial court and rivers. UNESCO has recognized this art as part of the Vietnamese court music heritage.
The evening tour begins with a sunset walk along the riverbank, crossing Trường Tiền Bridge and passing French colonial-era buildings along Lê Lợi Street, while listening to the guide introduce the history of the former imperial capital. The group will then board a dragon boat to enjoy a live Hue royal court music performance on the Perfume River—usually featuring a small band and singers in traditional áo dài—and when the music concludes, each guest will release a paper floating lantern onto the river to wish for good luck.
Back on shore, we will stroll along the riverside wooden walkway and the pedestrian streets in the old French Quarter (from Friday to Sunday), ending the journey with a cup of Hue’s specialty salted coffee.
