Tour description
The best of Hue lies beyond the citadel walls, scattered among the pine-covered hills and rice fields along the Perfume River—and the roads connecting these sites are perfect for motorbikes. On this full-day tour, you’ll ride pillion with experienced local drivers, stopping wherever the story leads.
We’ll visit the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, a lakeside retreat where the poet emperor spent more time than in the palace, and the tomb of Khai Dinh, a striking combination of European concrete and Vietnamese porcelain mosaic art. Between the two tombs, we’ll stop in Thuy Xuan, home to incense-making families, a workshop producing Hue’s famous palm-leaf conical hats, and a hilltop bunker from the Vietnam War overlooking the river. Lunch is served with a local family, followed by an afternoon ride through the rice fields back to the city.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. If heavy rain, a storm warning, or an official road closure makes travel unsafe, we will reschedule or provide a full refund.
Other notes
Safety: you ride as a passenger—guests never drive themselves. All drivers are experienced local drivers with Vietnamese driving licences, and drivers do not drink alcohol during the tour (Vietnam has a zero-tolerance policy for blood alcohol levels). Each motorbike carries one guest as required by law; parents may ride with children under 12.
Certified helmets (with the chin strap fastened) and rain ponchos are provided. Personal accident insurance is included.
The minimum age to ride alone behind a driver is 6. Please wear closed-toe shoes and let us know if you have back or neck problems or are pregnant.
The tomb of Khai Dinh has 127 steps. Please cover your shoulders and knees when visiting the tombs.
September to December is Hue’s rainy season: rain ponchos are provided, and in case of heavy rain, the tour may switch to a car.
