Hai Van Pass is Vietnam’s most famous route: winding bends climb to an elevation of 500 meters through the mountain range dividing the north and south, with the sea on one side and dense forest on the other. There is now a tunnel through the mountains, so Hai Van Pass is reserved for motorbikes, bicycles, and occasional tourist vehicles.
This one-way journey turns the transfer between Hue and Hoi An into the best day of your trip. You will ride pillion with an experienced driver; your luggage will be transported ahead by car. We leave Hue, travel along Tam Giang Lagoon and the coastal fishing villages, stop at Lang Co Bay, then climb the pass to Hai Van Gate—a 19th-century fortress with bunkers from the French and American wars—for sightseeing. After lunch by the sea, we descend to Da Nang, stop at the Marble Mountains, and arrive at your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang in the late afternoon.

Stop 1 - Pick-up in Hue (08:00): Luggage is transferred to the support vehicle; try on helmets and listen to the briefing.
Stop 2 - Tam Giang Lagoon (around 09:00): Fishing villages and fishing nets on the lagoon.
Stop 3 - Lang Co Bay (around 10:45): The bay and beach at the foot of the mountains.
Stop 4 - Hai Van Pass and Hai Van Gate (around 11:30): Ride up the winding roads to the ancient fortress atop the pass and enjoy panoramic views of Da Nang Bay.
Stop 5 - Seafood lunch (around 12:45): Have lunch by the sea at the foot of the pass.
Stop 6 - Marble Mountains (around 14:30): Caves and pagodas inside the limestone mountains.
End (around 17:00): Drop-off at your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang, and collect your luggage.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. If heavy rain, a storm warning, or an official road closure makes travel unsafe, we will reschedule or provide a full refund.
Other notes
Safety: you travel as a passenger (riding pillion)—guests never drive themselves. All drivers are experienced local riders with Vietnamese driving licences, and drivers do not drink alcohol throughout the trip (Vietnam has a zero-tolerance policy for blood alcohol). By law, each motorbike carries one guest; parents may travel with children under 12.
A standard helmet (with a chin strap) and rain poncho are provided. Personal accident insurance is included.
The minimum age for riding alone behind the driver is 6. Please wear closed-toe shoes and inform us if you have back or neck problems or are pregnant.
The route is approximately 160 km, with 6–7 hours of riding time and frequent stops; it is not suitable for guests with back problems. A car option is available for those who do not wish to ride a motorbike.
September to December is the stormy rainy season on the pass; in the event of heavy rain or a storm warning, the trip will be conducted by car or rescheduled.
Each guest may send one large suitcase and one small bag in the support vehicle.
