Detailed itinerary
HANOI - CAO BANG - PAC BO (MEALS: LUNCH & DINNER)
06:00 - 06:30 The vehicle and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the Old Quarter area and the Hanoi Opera House. Depart for Cao Bang along National Highway 3 to begin the Cao Bang - Pac Bo - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Nguom Ngao Cave tour. The driver will make a stop at a rest area, where you can have breakfast at your own expense. On the journey from Hanoi to Cao Bang, you will experience crossing famous mountain passes such as Giang Pass and Gio Pass.
Noon: Enjoy lunch at a restaurant on Gio Pass. After lunch, continue the journey to Cao Bang. On the route to Cao Bang, you can admire three consecutive mountain passes: Khau Khang Pass, Cao Bac Pass, and Tai Ho Sin Pass.
15:30 Arrive at Pac Bo. The tour guide will take you to visit the Pac Bo Historical Relic Site on your Cao Bang discovery tour. Throughout the visit, the guide will introduce the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. In addition, you will see firsthand the historical relics associated with Uncle Ho's life during the resistance years from 1941 to 1945. You can also take souvenir photos at Lenin Stream, Karl Marx Mountain, and Kilometer 0 of the Ho Chi Minh Highway. Afterwards, the guide will take you to explore the mysterious Coc Bo Cave.
18:30 Arrive in Cao Bang City. Have dinner at a restaurant. Afterwards, check in to your hotel and relax.
In the evening, you are free to explore Cao Bang City at your own leisure.

06:00 Enjoy breakfast and check out of the hotel to continue the tour to explore Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall. The vehicle and tour guide pick you up for breakfast. After breakfast, the group boards the vehicle to explore the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark. This is a geopark spanning over 3,275 km² located in the frontier region of Vietnam in Cao Bang Province, covering the districts of Ha Quang, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Quang Hoa, and parts of Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, and Thach An. This park holds 500 million years of Earth's history through the geological heritage preserved here. Fossils, marine sediments, volcanic rocks, minerals, and especially karst landscapes provide extraordinary evidence of the Earth's evolution and changes. On April 12, 2018, it was officially recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark, becoming the second UNESCO Global Geopark in Vietnam after the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark in Ha Giang. Along the way, take in the poetic and charming beauty of Ma Phuc Pass.
09:00 Visit Nguom Ngao Cave, also known as Tiger Cave. Nguom Ngao Cave is renowned as one of the most beautiful caves in Northern Vietnam. It is located inside a mountain in Gun Village, Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province. According to a 1995 survey by the British Cave Research Association, Nguom Ngao Cave has a total length of 2,144 meters with three main entrances: Nguom Ngao, Nguom Lom, and Ban Thuon. As soon as you step inside Nguom Ngao Cave, you will be struck by the diverse shapes and sizes of stalactites and stalagmites. Be sure to capture these unique formations as souvenirs!
10:00 Continuing the tour, the driver takes you to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Ban Gioc Waterfall is hailed as the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam. In addition, standing at a height of up to 53 meters with three cascading tiers, Ban Gioc Waterfall is honored as the 4th largest border waterfall in the world.
11:00 Have lunch at a restaurant in Tra Linh. After lunch, you and the tour guide get on the bus to continue traveling to Tra Linh.
The tour guide continues to take you to visit Nui Thung (also known as Mat Than Mountain / God's Eye Mountain). Stopping at Na Ma Valley, also known as the Tuyet Tinh Coc grassland of the Cao Bang mountain region, you can admire and take photos of the mountain, which is considered a geological masterpiece of nature set amidst romantic, majestic landscapes.
Note: Due to road conditions, cars usually have to stop about 1 km from the Mat Than Mountain area. From here, you can walk or hire a motorbike taxi (at your own expense) to go inside.
18:30 Arriving back in Cao Bang City, the vehicle and guide will transfer you to the city bus station to check in for the sleeper bus departing at 20:00 back to Hanoi. Early the following morning, you will arrive at My Dinh bus station.
