Tour description
With its picturesque landscape of mountains and water, Am Tien Cave is likened to a “sleeping princess” amid the forests and mountains of Ninh Binh. Few would expect that this flooded valley, surrounded by limestone cliffs, is home to legends associated with the feudal dynasties of the past.
Am Tien Cave possesses a tranquil, poetic riverside beauty that captivates every visitor with its rare natural charm. Moreover, this destination is closely linked to the historical period of King Dinh Tien Hoang, further enhancing its value in the eyes of travelers. When you come here, you not only have the chance to admire majestic, lush natural scenery, but also to enjoy a fresh, relaxing atmosphere far removed from crowded, bustling places.
Highlights of the tour that you should not miss:
- Bai Dinh Pagoda – the largest and most beautiful pagoda in Southeast Asia
- Am Tien Cave Pagoda – a travel destination that is increasingly loved by domestic and international visitors for its natural beauty and long history.

Detailed itinerary
Hanoi - Bai Dinh Pagoda - Am Tien Cave Meals (Lunch)
06:00 – 06:30 The car and tour guide pick you up at the meeting point in Hanoi and depart for Ninh Binh. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Northern Delta of Vietnam.
08:30 Arrive in Ninh Binh and visit Bai Dinh Pagoda – the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia, renowned for holding many records such as having the largest bronze bell tower or the largest Maitreya Buddha statue...
Bai Dinh Pagoda is a historic scenic spot with centuries of history. It is the largest pagoda in Vietnam, and the name "Bai Dinh" frequently appears in rankings of ancient pagodas in Asia and the world. With its corridors of Arhat statues surrounding the pagoda grounds and small landscaped gardens arranged inside, it offers visitors a sense of peace and inner tranquility. Bai Dinh Pagoda is also mentioned by foreign media as an incredible check-in spot that tourists should visit when coming to Vietnam.
Noon: Rest and enjoy lunch at a restaurant featuring rustic dishes and Ninh Binh specialties.
Afternoon: The car takes you to visit Am Tien Cave Pagoda.
Surrounded on all four sides by mountains, its magnificent natural landscape creates a world of its own, tinged with the serene, somber, and mysterious aura of a land that was once an ancient execution ground.
Ninh Binh is one of the destinations attracting many domestic and international tourists thanks to its picturesque landscapes and deep historical roots, and Am Tien Cave is one of them. Am Tien Cave is also known as "Tuyet Tinh Coc". True to the magical nature of its name, the atmosphere of Am Tien Cave carries a hint of gloom, with that mystery unfolding right from the pathway leading into the cave. Currently, Am Tien Cave has not fully opened for commercial tourism, but due to strong interest from travel agencies, the management board opened a tunnel through the mountain to give visitors the opportunity to visit free of charge.
You will visit and take photos at the pond, then climb 205 stone steps along the cliff to reach Am Tien Cave halfway up the mountain. On the mountain lies Am Tien Pagoda, chosen by Empress Dowager Duong Van Nga as the place to practice Buddhism in the final years of her life. You can enter to offer incense, explore the pagoda, and admire the entire breathtaking scenery of "Tuyet Tinh Coc" from here.
16:30 Board the car to depart for Hanoi.
19:00 The car arrives in Hanoi. The tour guide bids you farewell. Goodbye and see you again.
