Tour description
Phu Quoc Night Market is located on Bach Dang Street in Duong Dong and is truly worth visiting - but it is also a place where tourists can easily get overcharged. Seafood is often ordered before the price is quoted, motorbike touts lead tourists to commission-paying restaurants, and bills can be two to three times what locals pay.
We run this tour with every price confirmed in writing beforehand. That is truly the most important part of this tour.
We will enjoy scallops grilled with scallion oil and crushed peanuts, split sea urchins grilled in their shells with quail eggs and cheese, mantis shrimp steamed with lemongrass, and whatever the boats brought in that afternoon - your guide will walk you along the ice stalls and show you what is fresh and what has been sitting out.
We will also eat goi ca trich, the island's herring salad: raw herring cured in vinegar and lime, tossed with grated coconut, onions, and fresh herbs, then wrapped in rice paper and dipped in a peanut-chili sauce. This is the dish Phu Quoc locals are most proud of, and hardly any resort gets it right.
We finish in the dessert alley - cotton candy wrapped in crispy rice paper, wax coconut, and fresh coconut water.
Small group, maximum 10 guests.

Other notes
Departures daily at 17:30. The market starts setting up around five o'clock and is busiest between seven and ten.
Straight talk about overcharging: Bach Dang Night Market does have an issue with seafood being cooked before the price is given, motorbike touts steering tourists to kickback restaurants, and stalls selling fake freshwater pearls. Your guide will confirm every price in advance and handle the payments. If you return on your own later, always ask for the price per kilogram before anything is weighed.
Shellfish is a major part of this tour. If you cannot eat shellfish, please choose our morning tour instead.
Goi ca trich is raw fish cured in vinegar. This dish is optional, and we will substitute it with another dish.
Rainy season: the southwest monsoon generally lasts from roughly May to October with rough seas. The market remains open.
Address: Phu Quoc is currently an administrative special zone under An Giang province; Kien Giang no longer exists as a province.
Minimum age 8. Walking distance is approximately 1 km on flat streets.
