Detailed itinerary
Morning: Visit Vung Chua – Yen Island – Ngang Pass – Lieu Hanh Holy Mother Temple
08:00: Our vehicle and tour guide will pick you up in the center of Dong Hoi City (pick-up at the airport, train station, hotel, etc.).
The group departs northward along National Highway 1A for a distance of over 70 km to reach Vung Chua – Yen Island, located in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trạch District, Quang Binh Province. Here, visitors can admire the picturesque landscape of mountains and sea harmoniously blended. You will visit and offer incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap – an outstanding son of Quang Binh and a brilliant general of the nation.
09:30: Visitors offer incense in remembrance and gratitude to the General – who dedicated his entire life to the nation and its people. Afterwards, enjoy free time to sightsee and take photos at Vung Chua beach.
10:00: Continue the journey to Ngang Pass, the natural boundary between Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces. This historic pass has been immortalized in Vietnamese poetry and literature, most notably in the famous poem "Passing Ngang Pass" by Ba Huyen Thanh Quan.
At the summit of Ngang Pass stands Hoanh Son Quan – an ancient gate along the historic north-south Thien Ly road. Here, visitors can take in the panoramic mountain-and-sea scenery from the top of Ngang Pass and take commemorative photos at Hoanh Son Quan.
Looking toward Ha Tinh and Quang Binh from the top of Ngang Pass, visitors are treated to poetic, romantic, and breathtaking views that evoke indescribable emotions. In the past, travelers passing through here often recited the folk verse:
“Climbing the pass with wavering steps,
The heart leans toward Ha Tinh, the soul yearns for Quang Binh”
Continue the journey to the Temple of Princess Lieu Hanh (Holy Mother Lieu Hanh) at the foot of Ngang Pass. The temple is an imposing, sacred site with distinctive architecture deeply rooted in traditional Vietnamese beliefs. Visitors can stroll the temple grounds and offer incense to pray for peace and well-being for themselves and their families.
12:00: Enjoy lunch at a restaurant by Da Nhay Beach.
Afternoon: Da Nhay Beach – Quang Phu Sand Dunes
13:00: Da Nhay Beach (Jumping Rocks Beach) is a beautiful and pristine beach in Quang Binh, situated along National Highway 1A at the foot of Ly Hoa Pass in Bo Trach District, about 35 km north of Dong Hoi City center. It features a long, untouched coastline bathed in golden sunshine, clear blue water, white sand, and gentle waves.
The beach is known for its rocky formations jutting out into the sea in various shapes; as waves crash over them, they evoke the image behind its unique name – "Jumping Rocks Beach". Enjoy walking along the shore and taking photos at this scenic coastal spot.
15:30: The group moves to Quang Phu Sand Dunes. Here, you are free to take photos and participate in activities such as sandboarding and ATV off-road dune rides (expenses at your own account).
16:30: Board the vehicle for the return trip to Dong Hoi City. On behalf of the company, our tour guide expresses heartfelt thanks, says farewell, and looks forward to welcoming you on future journeys.
