Tour description
Saigon's best night food is scattered across neighborhoods too far to walk between, yet too exciting to miss. So we ride. Riding pillion behind an experienced local driver-guide, one guest per scooter, you will weave through four districts in one evening.
We start with the perpetual line at the city's most legendary banh mi cart: a baguette loaded with pate, cold cuts, and homemade mayonnaise to the point of becoming a true landmark. From there, we cruise over to a street corner where a seasoned wok has been frying up bot chien — crispy rice flour cakes with egg and pickled green papaya — for some forty years, and you'll watch the entire dish come together in ninety seconds of steel and flame.
The centerpiece of the tour is Ho Thi Ky, a 300-meter alley tucked behind the city’s wholesale flower market, where around 120 stalls, many run by Saigon’s Cambodian-Khmer community, serve up dishes you won’t find in District 1: num banh chok, grilled fish cakes wrapped in banana leaves, palm sugar desserts, and fermented fish papaya salads. Your guide will order in both Khmer and Vietnamese while explaining how this vibrant community came to settle here.
We finish across the canal on Vinh Khanh Street in old District 4, a one-kilometer strip of open-front seafood restaurants where locals gather to feast on shellfish. Scallops grilled with scallion oil, razor clams sautéed with garlic, grilled prawns, cold beer, and plastic stools on the pavement — this is the Saigon night out that locals truly choose.
Maximum 8 guests, one rider per scooter. Helmets, rain ponchos, and all food and drinks are included.
