The Saigon River is the reason the city was founded, yet most visitors only see it from a dinner cruise. The public river bus, operating since 2017, is the easiest way to see how the river and the city are changing: the new towers of Thu Thiem, the reconstructed Ba Son shipyard, the villas and gardens of Thao Dien, and the lush green curves of the Thanh Da Peninsula.
On this relaxed morning tour, your guide will accompany you on the river bus and introduce the river’s history—from the French-era port and naval shipyard to the new city across the river. We will get off at Thao Dien to stroll through alleyways, garden cafés and art galleries, then continue upstream to Thanh Da, a peninsula on a bend in the river that still retains a semi-rural character, before returning to the city center.

Detailed itinerary
Stop 1 - Bach Dang station (08:30): Introduction to the Saigon River and the waterbus.
Stop 2 - Up the river (approx. 08:45): Thu Thiem, the Ba Son shipyard site and Binh An by boat.
Stop 3 - Thao Dien (approx. 09:30): Walk through the riverside lanes, galleries and garden cafes; coffee stop.
Stop 4 - Thanh Da (approx. 10:45): The river-bend peninsula and its riverside.
Stop 5 - Ride back (approx. 11:30): Downriver to Bach Dang.
Finish (12:30): Bach Dang station.

If the boat service is suspended due to storms, flooding, high water levels, or official directives, we will reschedule the tour or provide a full refund.

Life jackets are provided on all boats and must be worn on small boats without a roof. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
